Madeira senior outfielder Andrew Benintendi received a big honor this week.

According to the Cincinnati Enquirer’s Mike Dyer, Benintendi is the National player of the year.

Benintendi has signed with Arkansas to play baseball at the collegiate level. Also as a sign of class, the Cincinnati Reds drafted Benintendi in the 31st round of this year’s MLB Amateur Player draft.

Congrats to Andrew as he continues his baseball career in the SEC and hopefully beyond.
