A couple of weeks ago, I stated on our podcast, that I thought the Reds were done. At the time I made that bold statement, I truly didn’t believe the Cincinnati Reds had it in them to make a run.

For a team that was playing with 0 fire and couldn’t hit with runners on base, I didn’t think they could turn it around.

Maybe it was the smackdown they received by the Cardinals two weekends ago that changed this team. Maybe it was the return of Ryan Ludwick to the clubhouse. Who knows. All I do know, is that this team is playing like the baseball team that we all wished and thought they could play like all season.

This Reds team just went in to Chicago and swept the 3-game series from the Cubs, shutting them out in 2 of the 3 games. The Reds are now sitting pretty, only 1/2 game back of St. Louis for 2nd place and only 3 1/2 back of the Pirates in first.

The Reds now have won 4 games in a row and 7 of their last 8 games.

Is this the run that takes this team into sole position of first in the division?

I do know that I am fully prepared to say that I was wrong in doubting this team if they keep it up.
