The regular season portion of the season has mostly wrapped up and we are looking ahead to conference championship weekend. This is the weekend that will determine who will be crowned conference champion and who will be possibly left in the dark for the playoff. As things stand now, if things go as planned, the college football playoff will be as is. However, if there is one upset, things could be tossed into complete chaos. Teams like Ohio State, North Carolina and Stanford are hoping for an upset of one of the top four and a possible place into the playoff.
North Carolina is the one team that could control their destiny. If North Carolina, who hasn‘t lost since week one, can defeat Clemson they should find themselves as one of the playoff four. Ohio State will be one of the teams set to benefit from an upset as they are one of the first two teams out. Even with Ohio State losing just two weeks ago, they have benefited from teams in front of them falling within the last couple of games. If things stand as is, it will be the PAC-12 that will be left out. With five power conferences and only four playoff spots, one or more of the power five teams will be left out. All eyes will be focused on this big weekend of football and how the chips will fall.Â
