The 2016/17 English Premier League season kicked off this weekend with a stunning 2-1 defeat by defending champions Leicester to a team in Hull, that many expect to be relegated. Coming into the league are many big names. With three of the big teams getting new managers, it is safe to say the league will not shape up like it did last season. Along with new managers, many bigger names have made their way into the league. The likes of Paul Pogba, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Ilkay Gundogan are a few of the names you will see making a big impact this season.

With Manchester United and Chelsea not having to worry about Champions League play, they can place all of their focus on the league and are two of the teams expected to contend for the title. With that being said, Manchester United have spent their money very wisely and with Jose Mourinho leading the way, United look to return to their dominant form. Let’s take a look at the Premier League table and my picks on who will be in the top four and which three teams I expect to head back to the Championship.

Projected order of finish:

  1. Manchester United
  2. Manchester City
  3. Chelsea
  4. Arsenal
  5. Tottenham Hotspur
  6. Liverpool
  7. Leicester City
  8. West Ham
  9. Stoke City
  10. Southampton
  11. Everton
  12. Crystal Palace
  13. Sunderland
  14. Bournemouth
  15. Swansea City
  16. Middlesbrough
  17. West Bromwich Albion
  18. Burnley
  19. Watford
  20. Hull City

Player of the Year: Zlatan Ibrahimovic
Top Scorer: Sergio Aguero

This season should once again be a fun one to watch. With the big names and the big clubs, the Premier League will continue to show why it is one of the most popular leagues in the world.
