This week, the first rankings in the college football playoff were released. While the top three was expected, there was a stunner at number four, with the Aggies of Texas A&M jumping the Washington Huskies. The playoff committee rewarded teams for their strength of schedule, mainly the SEC blowhards, but failed to recognize winning. Lets take a look at the three big storylines from this week.

1. Can anyone knock off the Crimson Tide?

Alabama is on a tear and is clearly the best team in the country. Can they survive a trip to Death Valley and knock off LSU at night?

2. Can Ohio State survive a test from the Cornhuskers?

The Buckeyes haven’t played well the past couple weeks. Can they rebound and knock off a determined Nebraska team?

3. Jabrill Peppers looks to firmly establish himself as a Heisman finalist

It can be argued that the best and most explosive defensive player should be invited as one of the Heisman Trophy finalists. How will he fare against the Terrapins?
