News has come out that former Chicago Bears and Cincinnati Bengals running back, Cedric Benson, died from injuries that were sustained in an overnight motorcycle accident in Austin, Texas. According to reports, Benson, who was the fourth overall pick in the 2005 NFL Draft, was riding his motorcycle when he slammed into a minivan, killing himself and the passenger on his motorcycle. The minivan reportedly caught fire, but the people inside were not hurt.
Benson amassed 6017 rushing yards during his 8-year NFL career. His career took off when he joined the Bengals after three seasons in Chicago. While in Cincinnati, Benson rushed for 4176 rushing yards and 21 touchdowns in 56 games.
In 2009, Benson was the main man during the Bengals playoff season. The Bengals swept the division before falling in the playoffs to the New York Jets. That season he rushed for 1251 yards and 6 touchdowns.
