It is safe to say that 2020 has been a year that many people would like to forget. In the sports world, the UFC and other promotions have done a good job of putting on events to help people satisfy their sports fix. During the pandemic, UFC put on 32 events, not including the Dana White Contender Series events. Since the last Fight Night event went down a few weekends ago, the UFC has put together one of the best years in the history of the promotion. Even during a pandemic, Dana White did a fantastic job of getting top notch fights to go amidst the chaos of Covid-19.
The last pay-per-view event took place three weekends ago, from the UFC APEX in Las Vegas. UFC 256, which featured a fantastic main event matchup between Deiveson Figueiredo and Brandon Moreno, was the absolute perfect way to end the pay-per-view year. The UFC 256 main event card was well worth the price
Those last two events were the perfect way to end a brutal 2020.
Next up, 2021.
If Dana White had a great 2020 amidst a global pandemic, you can damn well bet he is going to go hard in 2021. To kick off the year, there are four events currently scheduled for the month of January, headlined by UFC 257: Poirier vs McGregor 2 on January 23. The year 2021 will start off with UFC Fight Night: Holloway vs Kattar event on January 16. With the UFC starting off strong in 2021, look for the remainder of the year to follow suit.
Currently, the UFC has 10 events scheduled through March 20, 2021. Three of those 10 events are Pay-Per-Views, with UFC 257: Poirier vs McGregor 2 being the first of the events. As we know, not every major UFC event will have the star power with a Conor McGregor but expect 2021 to be one of the best for the promotion. Even thought times have been tough, credit must be placed on Dana White for helping people cope during this pandemic. For that, as fight fans we say, thank you Dana.
