The high school football season is in full swing and once again, some of the best football is right here in the tri-state.
In the first rankings Top 10 rankings of the 2022 season, a big name has seemingly returned to prominence while the usual suspects have remained in the picture. The Moeller Crusaders top the initial rankings after traveling to Louisville, where they knocked off Kentucky power, Trinity. Defending Division II state champions, Winton Woods throttled Walnut Hills on the road, while Lakota West did the same to their rival, Lakota East. Those top three teams ridiculously outscored their opponents by a combined 120 points.
Princeton, who was once a traditional power in the tri-state had fallen back over the last few years but are now on the rise. In the second week of the Skyline Chili Crosstown Showdown, Princeton shut out the Colerain Cardinals, 28-0, at home.
The beautiful part of high school football in this area is that these schools usually all play each other at some point in this season. The GMC and GCL are the two conferences that tend to stand tall throughout the season and this year is no different. Three of the GCL South schools are represented, while the GMC has three schools as well.

There are some big games that are set to take place this week and ones that will certainly shake up the rankings. Moeller hosting East Central (In) and Fairfield traveling to Colerain are the two big matchups to watch. Will there be any upsets that come about? Those will be things to keep and eye on as this season continues to play out.
