This season has been one of the wildest seasons that we have seen in high school football in the tri-state area in some time. So far, it has been a bad time to be a top ranked team because those teams seem to fall as soon as they have made it to the top. There has been one thing that has been consistent so far this season, that is the play from Winton Woods, Princeton and East Central. Those three teams have come out on fire this season and have shown a level of dominance that has taken them to the top. It has been said in previous rankings that Winton Woods has reloaded after losing a lot of top talent. That has not stopped them from continuing to roll in the ECC. The Warriors have knocked off Trotwood Madison, Walnut Hills and West Clermont on the way to a perfect start. The Princeton Vikings have been the cream of the crop over in the GMC, knocking off Elyria, Lakota West and Lakota East. The Vikings came into the season looking to dethrone Lakota West as GMC champs and their start has done nothing but help their cause. The East Central Trojans made the biggest jump in the rankings after knocking off then #4 Moeller Crusaders. East Central, the defending Indiana State Champions, flexed their muscle in their anticipated matchup with Moeller, coming away with a 38-28 victory.

The St. Xavier Bombers have had a rough start to their schedule. The Bombers have had to travel a pretty good distance in their last two away games. St. X started off the season with a huge 10-0 win over Lakota West, before heading north to take care of Detroit’s Martin Luther King at Wayne State University. This past weekend, the Bombers made the trek south to take on the top team in Tennessee, McCallie. St. X was humbled by McCallie, 34-11, in a top matchup. The other GCL team in the rankings, the Elder Panthers stayed put in the rankings after a victory over Springboro. The two Kentucky schools, Beechwood and Covington Catholic each came away with wins this past weekend and will flip flop opponents this coming weekend. The Withrow Tigers made some noise early on and continue to rise up the rankings with impressive performances week in and week out.

Chris Asbrock has once again ranked the top 10 teams in the tri-state, this time for week 4 of the 2023 season. Without further ado, here is another installment of the ISC High School Football Top 10 rankings presented to you by Darkhawk Nutrition.

The fourth week of the season is filled with fantastic matchups. The one to watch, with all eyes on it is the huge game where the St. Xavier Bombers travel to face Withrow. That is a televised matchup on Spectrum and one that is a can’t miss. The top two teams in the rankings, Winton Woods and Princeton both face solid road tests. Winton Woods travels east to face Turpin while Princeton heads north to take on the puzzling Mason Comets. The other two games that are ones to watch are the big one in the ECC where Anderson hosts Milford. That will look to be a high scoring affair and the victor will be in a great position at the top of the conference. The other previously mentioned game, is Elder hosting the top team in Ohio, Lakewood St. Edward. St. Ed’s is ranked 10th nationally by MaxPreps. This is another great weekend of high school football on tap in the tri-state so once again, sit back and enjoy.
