It was another week of great high school football and another week with a great performance by the Elder Panthers. Elder has shown all season that they are an absolute wagon and a team that nobody wants to face. In their five wins thus far, the Panthers have outscored their opponents 199-30. Elder has allowed more than 10 points only once this season, shutting out their last two opponents. Two weeks ago, it was LaSalle who fell victim to the powerful Panthers. This past week, it was Louisville St. Xavier who made the trip north for the loss. Elder once again flexed their muscle in a 31-0 victory over Louisville St. Xavier. Staying in the GCL South, the Moeller Crusaders and St. Xavier Bombers clashed in one of the biggest games of the week. The Crusaders traveled to North Bend Road to face a confident Bombers team. Moeller came away with a convincing, yet surprising, 30-15 victory on the road.

The GMC had the other massive game with Lakota West taking on Princeton. The Vikings came out victorious, 27-24, to take sole possession of first place in the conference. Both teams showed their offensive prowess, hitting on big plays and letting the stars shine. Firebirds senior quarterback Jackson Smith had a solid game, throwing for 232 yards and 2 touchdowns on 15 completions. Smith connected on three big passes to Karmelo Jordan, Labron Lumpkins, and Kenyon Norman for plays of 73 , 44 and 29 yards respectively. Norman, the top running back in the conference, led Lakota West on the ground. Norman rushed for 128 yards on 32 carries and a touchdown. The Vikings were not to be outdone. Princeton quarterback, Monsanna Torbert was a force on the ground, rushing for 188 yards on 15 carries, including a 51-yard touchdown run. Torbert did struggle through the air, throwing for only 92 yards on 9 completions. Torbert did throw 3 interceptions, which kept the game close. Princeton did their work on the ground, rushing for a total of 279 yards.

The ECC had one of the most entertaining games of the entire weekend. In the Battle of 48, Little Miami traveled north to face the Lebanon Warriors. It was Lebanon who, on their homecoming, came away with the 36-35 overtime victory over the Panthers. Little Miami jumped out to an early lead and dominated the first half, as the Panthers led 21-7 going into the break. Running back Walker Brewsaugh scored twice on the ground and quarterback Brayden Brown had the other first half touchdown for the Panthers. The second half saw the tide turn and it was quick. It look Lebanon less than five plays to drive down the field and score a touchdown, to start the second half. From there, it was all Lebanon. Lebanon scored 21 straight points before the Panthers tied it up. The Panthers got the ball first in overtime and scored quickly. Lebanon responded on 4th down to tie it up on a 16-yard touchdown pass from Mason Reed to Wyatt Lassen. On the ensuing extra point attempt, the Panthers jumped offside, giving the Warriors the chance to go for two. Lebanon converted on the 2-point try, sending James Vandegrift Stadium into a frenzy.

As the season heads towards the final month, each week becomes more and more crucial. Once again, there are massive conference matchups. Here are seven of the top games to keep an eye on this week in Cincinnati.
