Another week and another Bengals victory to start the season. The Cincinnati Bengals are coming off a dominating 20-6 victory over the Houston Texans in week 2. Winning in the NFL is tough. Winning on the road in the NFL is tougher. The Bengals went on the road and in a workman-like performance, knocked off the Texans to move to 2-0 on the season. Now, the Bengals travel east to face division foe, the Pittsburgh Steelers. It is no secret that the Bengals revamped their defense. That revamped defense has carried the Bengals to their undefeated start. The Bengals are 6-8 against Pittsburgh under Zac Taylor and are looking to better that record with a win on Sunday. The Bengals have not started 3-0 since 2015 and have only started 3-0 eight times in franchise history.
Let’s take a look at the breakdown between these two teams heading into this matchup.
This is a big chance for the Bengals to continue to set the pace in the AFC North. As we have mentioned previously, the first four games of the season are difficult and the Bengals have passed those first two tests, with flying colors. Now, a matchup versus a division rival, who has been a brutal pain in the side of the Bengals for years. The opportunity is there for the Bengals and now is the time for them to step up and take it.
